What is Kudumbashree Kerala?
Kudumbashree is Kerala's award-winning women's SHG (Self Help Group) and poverty eradication mission. Over 45 lakh women in 3.01 lakh Neighbourhood Groups (NHGs) access microfinance loans (₹5,000–₹2 lakh), livelihood support, skill training, and collective farming. Kudumbashree manages 30,000+ micro enterprises. It is one of India's largest women empowerment programmes.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive Microfinance loans ₹5,000–₹2 lakh + skill training + livelihood support + micro enterprise grants. The scheme was launched in 1998 and is implemented by the Government of Kerala.
