What is Delhi Mahila Samriddhi Yojana?
The Delhi Mukhyamantri Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, approved by the BJP-led Delhi Cabinet on March 8, 2025, provides ₹2,500 per month to eligible BPL and EWS women aged 21–59 years who are registered Delhi voters with at least 5 years of residency. The scheme replaces the earlier AAP-announced 'Mahila Samman Yojana' (₹1,000/month) which was never implemented. In addition to the monthly stipend, pregnant women receive a ₹21,000 one-time maternity assistance and 6 nutrition kits. Beneficiaries must hold BPL/EWS status and must not be an income tax payer.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive ₹2,500/month DBT (BPL/EWS women voters, 21–59 yrs) + ₹21,000 maternity bonus for pregnant women. The scheme was launched in 2024 and is implemented by the Government of Delhi (NCT).
